Read the Requirements below and APPLY NOW for immediate consideration We will be contacting you over the phone – so watch out for our call!   Requirements: 2 years of experience in industrial construction or shipbuilding department Must be willing and able, after offer of employment, to submit verification of your legal right to work in the U.S. Must be willing and able to complete a pre-employment skills test Testing will be completed in local area Able and willing to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (will not be checking credit or financial backgrounds) Willing to relocate to Mobile, AL Travel or relocation assistance available and will be discussed in detail with hiring manager   Responsibilities: Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements Measure, cut, use hand or power tools and applicable machines Perform applicable static testing to ensure product meets customer specifications Clean and maintain work area – flush systems or tanks as applicable Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system or fabrication of small components to sea-frame   Inspection of work, identification of potential problems, initiation of corrective actions Increase awareness of Quality procedures within department  Ensure correct work procedures adhered to Assist in the control of waste elimination, e.g. materials, consumables etc.   Company Overview: Austal USA is currently building high speed aluminum ships for the US Navy, and was awarded the construction of 10 JHSVs in November 2008 and 10 LCSs in December 2010 worth $5.1billion.
