We are seeking a highly professional and self-motivated Community Relations Coordinator to serve as a representative in your community for our APIA program. As a Community Relations Coordinator with APIA, you will coordinate services for your host family cluster, facilitate the host family and au pair relationship and ensure that they adhere to program regulations. You will conduct in-home interviews with all new and current host families to discuss the services provided by the APIA program, review regulations for au pair work hours, evaluate host families’ expectations and assess private bedrooms to ensure that they are suitable.
Job Responsibilities
As a Community Relations Coordinator with APIA, you will conduct host family orientation sessions, contact each host family within 48 hours of their au pairs’ arrival and meet with each host family and au pair in their homes within two weeks of the placements. The two week meetings provide an opportunity to observe au pairs’ relationships with their host families, provide information and guidance on educational opportunities for au pairs and discuss cross-cultural adjustment issues. You will submit an evaluation form for the two-week assessment meeting as well as quarterly reports on your geographic cluster. You will contact host families and au pairs a minimum of once per month, twice each month for the first two months in the case of au pair rematches, and maintain records of each contact and issues discussed. You will also coordinate and host an annual Host Family Day that facilitates interaction among host families and includes a cultural adaptation workshop or discussion group.

You will also receive extensive training through webinars as well as face-to-face sessions with a regional program manager who will monitor your progress.
