Job Description

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Rhatigan Student Center, University Bookstore
Reports To: Director of University Bookstore
Location: University Bookstore, Sub-basemnt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Manages the flow of incoming and outgoing supplies. Reports to the Director of the University Bookstore. Must maintain accuracy and attention to detail. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accept, manage, store and distribute equipment, supplies and other items. Compare purchase orders & invoices to received materials. Manage and update the inventory of stockrooms. Sanitize work areas and ensure orderly organization. Mark and record surplus inventory supplies, equipment and other materials. Assemble new equipment and other items as needed. Oversee shipping, receiving and clerical assignments as necessary. Establish and maintain record-keeping procedures for course materials received.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. Preferred 3 years of shipping and receiving or appropriate retail experience. Must have a valid state driver’s license may be required to use of motorized vehicles.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Required to sit at a desk and focus on a computer screen for large portions of time. Must be able to use repetitive wrist, hand and finger movements to type and move objects regularly. Regularly required to reach with arms, sit, stand, bend at the knee and waist, walking and driving. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Loading and unloading packages from delivery trucks. Good precise hand-eye coordination

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Exposed to moderate noise levels. Frequently required to talk and listen to other individuals. This position may clean up or safely dispose of blood-borne pathogens. Some occasional outside working conditions in the heat or cold for delivery and receipt of products

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.
Excellent Communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of inventory of supplies in a retail setting.
Knowledge of proper health and safety procedures for forklifts, pallet jacks, and driving vehicles and equipment.
