Job Description ATPCO, the world's leader in the collection and distribution of airline fare and fare-related data, is seeking is seeking a Java J2EE Developer.    As a member of the Applications Solution Delivery (ASD) Team you are responsible for the implementation and enhancement of ATPCO’s application software.   This is a full time, direct hire, and internal role in Dulles, VA.  Relocation and Sponsorship assistance are available for the right candidate.   RESPONSIBILITIES: Leading analysis, design, development, testing, integration, debugging, documenting and implementation of new and enhancement projects Produces technical project requirements, designs, documents and conveys solutions Incorporates architectural strategies and standards into their solutions Promotes project success through efficient designs, programming techniques and strategies, utilizing reuse where practical Designs and executes unit and integration test strategies to ensure thorough testing prior to QA turnover Leads development and execution of implementation plans and release management processes with all necessary groups Ensures all technical and project artifacts are complete and properly managed as required per the SDLC Formulates high level and detailed estimates for blue sky analyses, project planning, and impact assessments including clear justification in situations that may involve ambiguous or unclear requirements Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and proposes/implements feasible solutions at ATPCO to improve efficiencies and current in programming techniques, technologies and tools utilized at ATPCO. 
Job RequirementsSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 5 years of Java development experience Experience in development of complex web-based, scalable, distributed systems and high-volume transaction applications Technical development experience utilizing Hibernate, Apache Struts, and Spring Framework Excellent written and oral communication skills with diverse audiences Excellent analytical and debugging skills Understanding and command of OO practices and UML SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERED: Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree Experience in different software development methodologies such as agile, test driven development, RUP   ABOUT ATPCO: ATPCO is the world's leader in the collection and distribution of airline fare and fare-related data. We collect this information from more than 450 airlines worldwide and distribute it to global distribution systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Travelport, and Sabre; online travel agents (Expedia and ITA); and other computer reservation systems (CRS). ATPCO makes this process more efficient by permitting each airline to submit and distribute its information through our systems, thereby giving each CRS/GDS the opportunity for a single source of fare-related data.   One of our unique features is an Automated Rules product. It permits a CRS/GDS to automatically load its pricing rule data tables without significant human intervention, thereby allowing new fares to be sold in the marketplace in the shortest possible time.
