This position may be located in the Portland, OR area or Seattle, WA.

General Job Description:

This is a responsible managerial position that involves developing new business and finding new opportunities. The ideal candidate must be able to solution sell. Duties include sales calls, communicating company processes and services available, and providing feedback from the customer base to the company.

  • These are regional roles, covering multiple states/provinces requiring 50% overnight travel.
  • This Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive our brand awareness and entry strategy into three main markets (Medical/Defense/Aerospace/Industrial) within an assigned region. They will be responsible for developing new markets and opportunities which do not yet exist.
  • The BDM must be capable of market assessment using common business analysis techniques tied to business case and strategy formation. They will utilize strategic planning tools to enter markets and be capable of formulating the initiatives and tactics around this methodology.
  • The BDM will work closely with our engineering, technical sales/support and customer service teams to identify track and close new opportunities utilizing our RFQ and quotation processes. They will be responsible to track and quotations deals through our sales funnel.
  • The Business Development Manager will be tied to the goals, objectives and key strategic initiatives of the sales and marketing team.
  • The BDM will work multiple opportunities throughout an assigned territory and appropriately hand-off to technical sales and support team, once the customer strategy is in place.

    Job Requirements

    Education Requirements: Requires a Bachelors Degree  

     

    Experience:

     

    • Experience in one of the company's 4 Main Markets: Medical/Defense/Aero/Industrial.

    • 10-years minimum sales experience in industrial manufacturing.

    • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred

    • Sales training a plus!

     

    Professional Requirements:

     
    Professional Certifications:

      • A minimum of 2 operational platform certifications must be achieved within 2 years from start of employment.  Operational platforms include the following:
        • Six Sigma (ASQ): Yellow Belt – Green Belt – Black Belt
        • Project Management (PMI):  Certified Project Management Professional (CAPM) – Project Management Professional (PMP)
        • Lean (SME):  Bronze – Silver – Gold
    • Willing to relocate to different states or regions as needed to support Corporate and/or Personal growth plans


    Specific Skills:

    • This potential candidate for this role will represent the company externally demonstrating respect, integrity and ethical standards consistent with company philosophy
    • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
    • Strong customer presentation skills.
