The location is flexible for core offices or telecommuters in the U.S. The role summary is as follows: This position delivers a strong and flexible IT service management and delivery information foundation that ensures data integrity for UHG. This foundation is used to define, develop, and maintain databases, web applications, and dashboards relating to the performance and availability of UHG systems. These systems are used to drive business decisions on the continuous improvement of system availability and the quality of customer service delivered by UHG. Predict emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them. Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business. Participate in the development of business strategy. Develop and manages business plans to achieve objectives. Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives. Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences. Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches. Direct cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams. Develop scalable reporting systems and/or data sources to conduct ad hoc analyses Research complex functional issues using a variety of resources Develop and prepare highly complex web applications/dashboards and provide and/or interpret information and data across divisions and departments Assume responsibility for data integrity among various internal groups and/or between internal and external sources Recommendations for data warehouse mart design. Design, Development, and Deployment of ETL's Participate with application design teams to ensure data capture, business rules and process designs facilitate data integrity, standardization and consistency. Analyze and evaluate customer requests for system enhancements, modifications or special apps/queries. Develop solutions for these requests based on the analysis, including developing new programs if appropriate. Work with business and technical entities to define and document business requirements
Job Requirements
5+ years of SQL or .Net programming, data analysis, data management, web development and reporting experience. 5+ years proven ability to develop automated, well documented, reliable and easy to use/translate solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. 5+ years advanced SQL writing skills. Able to retrieve data, write stored procedures and tune SQL through query tools on Oracle, SQLServer and Sybase platforms. Oracle as primary DBMS. Other Success Factors: Able to quickly adapt and familiarize with UHG and its IT service management and delivery program. Understanding of how IT information is used to drive decisions at all levels of management. Experience with designing, developing and deploying IT Dashboards using industry tools such as MicroStrategy or Tableau. Understanding of Change, Incident and Problem Management processes as well as ITIL principles a strong plus. Creative and logical problem solver. Strong mathematical and statistical skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines. Able to quickly adapt in a fast paced and evolving IT organization.
