Job Description The Department of Academic Affairs at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Vermont satellite campus located at 261 Mountainview Drive, Colchester, is accepting applications for the temporary position of administrative assistant. This full-time position is available immediately and will continue through June 28, 2013. Reporting to the Associate Dean for the Vermont campus, this position will serve as the initial contact for students, faculty, administrators and other guests. The administrative assistant will create meeting agendas and minutes, maintain calendars and schedule meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, produce and distribute correspondence, communicate within and across departments, and perform general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, recordkeeping, budget tracking, data entry and faxing. Must be able to prioritize and multitask, take initiative, anticipate needs of the department, work independently and work with a team. The ability to work with a diverse group of students and faculty is essential, as well as an understanding of the need for confidentiality and impeccable attention to detail.

 

Job Requirements

Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years administrative experience is required, preferably within higher education. Qualified candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely demonstrating tact, patience, and courtesy both orally and in writing; ability to work independently with little direction and work confidentially with discretion; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and Outlook).  Experience utilizing a Learning Management System such as Blackboard, Moodle, etc; is a plus.
