Job Description Retail Store Manager   The Store Manager is accountable for driving sales and company defined matrices, for managing the store service culture, and for directing staff to maintain high standards in presentation, back of house organization, and for deliver overall consistent operational execution.  The Store Manager recruits, trains, and develops a productive team that is focused on providing great customer service while maintaining superior store standards.   Holds Store team and self-accountable to all established standards of performance and behavior. Drives store team to achieve all business goals. Achieves all store financial, revenue and expense targets. Monitors daily and weekly sales; analyzes reports to ensure monthly sales budget is achieved. Consistently monitors and adjusts sales forecasts to ensure labor is utilized to optimize sales generation. Effectively sources, recruits, selects and on-boards all management and non-exempt store personnel. Maintains optimal staffing levels to ensure business needs are obtained while promoting associate retention. Promotes a high-quality store associate experience from on boarding through the associate life cycle. Promotes maximum team and individual performance through consistent coaching and feedback. Drives in-store performance management processes. Partners with District Manager to create individual development plans that support performance needs and career growth for self and direct reports. Recognizes superior performance of direct reports with private and public recognition and appreciation Recognizes escalated associate and customer situations and partners with District Manager for resolution. Assigns projects and tasks appropriately to enhance the general management skills of direct reports. Manages new receipts within established receiving practices and ensures timely processing of all related paperwork and reports. Builds effective relationships with and store-center partners and mall management. Ensures adherence to all Company policies relating to cash and media control. Leads efforts to reduce in-store shrink activity through Loss Prevention education, awareness and compliance. Provides feedback to District Manager on cost effectiveness and service levels of outside vendors. Establishes and prioritizes store business goals in partnership with District Manager. Executes successful in-store implementation and sustainability of US Polo Assn. initiatives. Maintains the highest level of store standards and processes. Models and manages effective supervision to drive sales while maintaining exceptional customer service and store standards. Drives maximum associate productivity to achieve desired results and to manage workload. Reviews and approves associate schedule to ensure maximum sales floor coverage during key business times. Provides feedback to District Manager on success of US Polo Assn. field initiatives. Communicates consumer feedback and in-store trends to District Manager to drive growth opportunities. Identifies and communicates market and center insights to District Manager. Executes and monitors the internal and external customer experience within the store environment strategy. Leads implementation of product placement, marketing and promotional strategies as established by the US Polo Assn. Responds to all Company, Divisional, and District communication in a timely manner. Ensures compliance to all Federal, State, and US Polo Assn. employment requirements. Performs and delegates administrative duties as required. Occasional overnight travel required (2-3x per year).
