Job Description

We have excelled at providing solutions and adding value for our customers for over 50 years, and are one of the top 100 privately held companies in Minnesota.  We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Administrator to join our team of IT professionals. 

 

The Network Administrator will primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Interstate’s network, storage, server and virtualization environments. The qualified candidate will oversee all aspects of our IT infrastructure, enforce LAN/WAN security policy, perform multi-site network administration, and provide guidance to other network/system engineers.

 

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee Interstate’s Juniper network infrastructure – design, analyze, implement secure measures
  • Perform day-to-day network maintenance functions, including WAN/LAN monitoring, configurations,  & network security enforcement
  • Perform PBX and VoIP administration and dial plan maintenance.  Troubleshoot voice quality as required
  • Monitor & automate LAN/WAN alert notifications.  Provide reports & trending analysis on voice / data performance, latency, bandwidth utilization with sniffer, network monitoring tools, and network access control
  • Develop and document data/voice LAN / WAN topologies and IP schemes
  • Research and recommend new designs and technologies to enhance overall infrastructure performance and security
  • Administration of the Storage Area Network (SAN), server and VMware technology
  • Cross train peers in network, system and storage administration and fault resolution skills

    Desired Skills & Experience

     

    • Desired: Proven experience with 10+ years in IT system and/or network operations
    • Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Must have: Experience with firewall & switching management
    • Must have: Demonstrated experience in implementing LAN/WAN technologies
    • Must have: Server (Blade) and Storage (SAN) management and configurations
    • Must have: Sound understanding of iSCSI Channel configuration
    • Must have: Experience in implementing and supporting PBX and voice SIP network
    • Must have: Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with users at all levels of the company across different time zones
    • Must have: Virtualization – VMware, ESXi Server  installation and configuration
    • Must have: VMware View (VDI, Thinapp, Persona)
    • Desired candidate will need to share on-call 24x7 responsibilities
