Job Profile IMPAQ is seeking a full-time Assistant Controller to manage and provide oversight to the Company’s accounting activities and day to day financial operations. Responsibilities: Accounting Manages and has responsibility for the day to day running of DELTEK GCS Accounting system and associated products ensuring that transactions are done accurately, orderly, and timely Responsible the supervision of accounting staff and leading the charge to meet departmental close schedules Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger systems in order to ensure complete and accurate processing Oversees the payroll process ensuring that salaries, taxes and benefits are paid in an accurate and timely manner Prepares financial statements and other ad hoc information as requested Assists in the preparation of Negotiated Indirect Cost Recovery Agreements and any participates in meeting any other requirements under our indirect cost structures Assists in the preparation of budgets by company, department, project, and staff Oversees the departmental reconciliation of all accounts and statements related to accounting processes Assists in the management of IMPAQ’s financial relationships Coordinates with outside accounting firms, auditors, and cognizant Agencies Position is responsible for and is expected to manage the ongoing development of existing staff to include the capability to coach, mentor, and teach in a nurturing and professional manner Interfaces with other departments and staff to effect completion of the accounting close Incumbent is responsible for furthering equal employment opportunity by demonstrating fairness in making recommendations for hiring selections, encouraging and recognizing employee achievements, ensuring fair treatment of all employees regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, gender identity, disability or other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Job Requirements
Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred Knowledge and Experience 5-10 years of applicable accounting experience with demonstrated growth in accounting and financial roles & responsibilities is required Previous supervision of employees within a department is required Experience in the use of Deltek GCS Premier, Deltek Electronic timesheets, and DELTEK electronic expense reporting, and Excel is required; Deltek Costpoint experience may be considered Knowledge and of governmental accounting requirements and the FAR is required Experience in the use of Deltek Budgeting & Planning, Impromptu Report Writer, Electronic bank cash management systems, ADP automated Payroll & HR systems, and advanced excel skills is highly desired Experience with contracts and contracting issues a plus Skills Ability to effectively manage within a growing company, employee, and contract base. Must be able to interact well with staff. Will be expected to further develop the skills, knowledge, and abilities of the people working for them Ability to work collaboratively throughout an organization Possesses a firm understanding that accounting has customers to serve, not vice versa Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills Ability to listen as much as they can talk Ability to reorganize priorities and respond quickly to issues Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations in a professional manner Must be proactive, self-driven and have the ability to resolve problems Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to review, interpret, and explain financial data Skilled at working with proprietary systems and confidential data A positive attitude that reflects favorably
