Position Description:

            Primary objective is to lead controls design, programming and integration effort for industrial automation projects.  Engineer will utilize and coordinate control designers/engineers and assembly personnel assigned to project to successfully complete projects within targeted schedule and budget.  Ability to foster and work within a team setting is a must but ability to make technical decisions appropriate to the success of the project is critical.  Electrical hardware and software design/programming for industrial automation will make up a sigificant portion of the job.

Job Requirements

Requirements for consideration are:

  1. BSEE/BSME or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited school.
  2. Proven problem solver with involvement in several successful automated control system projects.
  3. Attention to detail and thoroughness is a must. 
  4. In-depth machine control experience.
  5. Ability to develop controls documentation package from scratch.  Includes conceptual design during quotation phase, coordination of CAD drawing package to meet project’s requirements per applicable codes, selection of hardware components, provide technical guidance for manuals, etc.  AutoCAD experience a plus.
  6. Extensive PLC and HMI system experience is a must. Our most successful engineers are outstanding software developers with an aptitude to learn and adapt to new platforms.  Although experience with all platforms is not a requirement, typical platforms include:
    1. PLC systems (including Allen Bradley RsLogix 5000, RsLogix 500, GE Machine Edition, Omron, Mitsubishi, Siemens, etc.)
    2. HMI systems (including Allen Bradley Factory Talk View, GE Cimplicity, Siemens WinCC, etc.)
    3. Robotic workstations (including Fanuc, Adept, Staubli, Motoman, Epson, etc.)
    4. Custom development applications (including C#, C++, VB, VBA, etc.)
    5. VFD and Servo systems
    6. Vision systems (including Cognex, Keyence, etc.)
  7. Electrical troubleshooting skills required for machine startup, debug and commissioning.
  8. Good written and verbal communication skills.
