GALEN COLLEGE OF NURSING seeks a professional and qualified Assistant Registrar for its Louisville, KY campus. 

Galen, which also has campuses in Florida, Ohio, and Texas, offers a truly innovative environment dedicated to the education of new nurses. Unlike other institutions, Galen is focused solely on nursing education.   Since 1990, Galen has graduated more than 7,000 and is one of the largest private nursing Colleges in the United States.

Position Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Collect and maintain student academic records
  2. Distribute acceptance letters
  3. Monitor and grade preadmission exams
  4. Assist with student orientation
  5. Monitor accept list
  6. Prepare and distribute weekly report
  7. Register students for classes
  8. Set up classes/ instructors
  9. Post student grades
  10. Handle all phone calls
  11. Distribute APG, decline, and repeat letters
  12. Run various AdHoc reports to compare with student data
  13. Monitor class rosters
  14. Complete and distribute all status change forms and add/drop forms
  15. Gather student information for graduation ceremony
  16. Maintain all student emails/passwords for online classes
  17. Create and maintain room grids
  18. Monitor and maintain immunizations on all enrolled students
  19. Handle all student verification requests
  20. Monitor immunization documentation and notify students of missing or expired paperwork.
  21. Other duties as assigned by the Registrar
Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

  1. GED/High school diploma required
  2. Associates degree in a business related field preferred
  3. Three years experience in college or academic setting preferred
  4. Ability to communicate with students, faculty, directors and dean as appropriate
  5. Work in a team environment with other Registrars
  6. Must be detailed oriented
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  8. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  9. Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks by deadline dates
  10. Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  11. Ability to speak in front of small groups

 

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time
  2. Ability to speak concisely and effectively to communicate needs
  3. Ability to operate a personal computer and other office equipment
  4. Normal motor skills and eye-hand coordination
