Project Manager (Information Technology)

 

Job Responsibilities

The Project Manager (PM) will use software information technology; work directly with online clients to create personalized employee benefit enrollment and communication websites. This involves gathering information from the client; distilling it to determine eligibility rules to participate in the employer-sponsored benefits; calculate benefit and contribution amounts; ascertain client report and vendor file export requirements; and creating a set of specifications for the website. The PM also generates personalized paper-based benefit statements, confirmation statements, and benefit summaries as requested by the client.

 

  • Reviewing and understanding the Service Agreement for each project
  • Reviewing the clients’ benefits from various handbooks, Summary Plan, description, miscellaneous documentation, and interviewing the client contacts
  • Determining each of the data elements needed for all reports, payroll feeds, and data export files to each of clients’ benefit vendor
  • Reviewing the clients’ corporate website and determining what graphic elements, if any, may be used on the website or printed benefit statement
  • Creating specifications that include the text that will be used on each screen of the website (or page of printed statement) and write the computational rules for each rule
  • Providing drafts of the specifications to internal team and client for review; keep the specifications up to date as changes and corrections are made throughout the life cycle of the site
  • Utilizing internal propriety tools to produce websites and paper-based services
  • Testing functionality for websites
  • Imputing values needed for payroll and vendor feeds, generate feeds as needed on an ongoing basis, and follow-up and resolve feed discrepancies as reported

    Job Requirements

    Project Manager providing online service will have experience in Human Resources or Insurance to understand the employee benefit terminology; must be experienced in trouble shooting and comfortable with software information technology scripting language. Must have multitasking skills; perform well under stress and have strong customer service focus.

     

    • Knowledge of basic algebra; database and spreadsheet applications
    • Proven verbal communication skills and superior written communication skills
    • Aptitude to perform and manage multiple projects
    • Strong problem-solving, logic, and analytical skills
    • Willing to take initiative and be self-motivated
    • Ability to be learn quickly and on the go
    • Ability to engage in self-teaching and mastery of subject matter
    • Ability to perform independently and a high degree of professionalism
    • Experience with HTML, preferred
