Job Description Payroll  Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

Full time payroll position at our Central Support location in Vancouver, WA.  Job entails completing multiple payrolls on a bi-weekly schedule.  Must have excellent customer support skills and be able to work well with employees at all levels.  Organizational skills and ability to work well under deadlines necessary.

 

ESSETIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Manage the overall payroll services for designated locations, including processing payroll, tracking documentation and reviewing payroll changes in a timely manner.  Ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations, and Company policies and procedures.   
  • Responsible for timely issue of all manual checks for assigned community, including timely distribution of such checks.

  • Responsible for reviewing each location’s payroll records for accuracy, payroll deductions, and required signatures.

  • Responsible for the monthly auditing of payroll documentation.
  •  
  • Responsible for quarterly payment of all payroll taxes for assigned locations.
  •  
  • Annually assist in the timely processing of all W-2s for assigned locations.
  •  
  • Date stamp all items received from all locations with applicable date received.
  •  
  • Responsible for responding to general questions regarding payroll policies and procedures, and offering assistance in the training of field staff. 
  •  
  • Prepare for bi-weekly payroll closing by making sure all items are input into the system for the payroll cycle. 
  •  
  • Responsible for running reports on a timely matter, including on all manual checks issued.
  •  
  • Responsible for filing backup information on an ongoing and consistent basis.

  •  Complete special projects as identified and needed.

    Job RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS

    Two or more years of progressively responsible payroll experience.  Proven ability to understand and process payroll in accordance with payroll policies and procedures.  Strong organizational and communication skills – including working with field representatives. Solid experience with payroll systems. 

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    A minimum of 2 years payroll experience or similar work setting experience.  Experience with payroll taxes and garnishments required.  Excel skills required.  Able to read and comprehend laws and regulations and work with multi-site locations.
