Job Description The Opportunity:

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Production Manager opening. If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a growing, fast-paced, world-class manufacturing facility, then this position is for you!


This position is located in Pullman, WA.

Production Manager (Day or Swing Shift)


Responsibilities:

  • Implement SEL values and objectives in order to achieve corporate goals.
  • Supervise production schedules, production quality and on-time delivery.
  • Assign manufacturing supervisor/assembler/operator duties, establish training needs and oversee training.
  • Define manufacturing supervisor/assembler/operator performance standards, review outcome of performance goals and set future targets.
  • Identify staffing and capital needs, collect data and write the justification for those needs.
  • Create, update and ensure control of department work instructions and reports.
  • Coordinate and develop new product design with engineering staff and participate in new product launches.
  • Improve quality and delivery costs by product family.
  • Encourage professional development of assembly/operator staff.
  • Identify and address personnel issues.
  • Work within established safety and quality standards.
  • Follow and improve manufacturing area processes.
  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Four years leadership experience
    • High school diploma or G.E.D.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions
    • Good computer skills: Word, Excel, SEL Quality System
    • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
    • Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
    • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
    • Negative drug test result(s)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • College degree (BS or BA)
    • Supervisory experience or training
    • Advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, Access
