DUTIES OF SENIOR PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER:
*Supports automation and process control improvement strategies in Honeywell TDC 2000 / 3000 DCS, Rockwell PLC's, and relevant HMI
*Manages Process Control network and DCS/PLC systems through life cycle, keep equipment maintained, keep software current, and iinitiate end of life cycle strategic plan for replacement
*Implements multi-year migration of existing process control architecture ensuring reliability, functionality, and eventually value creation
*Ensures consistency and reliability of control on critical variables and KPI's
*Supervises system management and hardware maintenance for control systems
*Supports reliability/project engineering groups in planning and installing new equipment and control systems via both small and large project work processes
*Initiates/develops process control modifications both in process control and automation/safety systems for improved safety, reduced costs, and improved efficiency
*Maintains critical control documentation (i.e. P&IDs, control loops, instrument specifications sheets)
*Utilizes best practices involving functional specification, design documents, implementation, and communication within site's MOC system
*Works with plant IT personnel to support area through reliable process control network infrastructure and historical data, including DCS and external historian functionality
*Provides on-call support to Utilities Area Maintenance & Operations organizations regarding DCS/PLC systems, Burner Management Systems, alarm management systems, control network switches/servers, Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP-IP protocols, and Honeywell Matrikon OPC solutions
*Effectively works with various organization levels/functions
*Works compliantly regarding site safety & environmental.
*Works within structured work flow systems of operations, maintenance, projects, and structured process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe PSDM, etc.
