Position Title: Biodiesel Production General Manager

Location:Houston, Texas

Company Profile

 

Channel Biorefinery & Terminals has announced the purchase of the Green Hunter biodiesel refinery located in Houston, Texas. The existing 110 MGY plant is being modified for the production of alternative feedstock based biodiesel. Utilizing state of the art technology for the pretreatment, reaction, and post treatment, the plant will be positioned as the lowest cost, highest quality biodiesel producer in the US market.

 

Job Description

 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the General Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory policies, procedures, and objectives as well as for the oversight of the support functions to include Administration, EH&S, Engineering, Terminal and Plant Operations, and Maintenance.

Job Duties:

•          Provide technical and budgetary oversight during the construction and startup phase

•          Manage the development of the plants operating systems during the construction phase, including SOP, MOC, Safety emergency procedures, quality program, logistics, EHS compliance

•          Provide technical process expertise to plant operations, maintenance, and other groups to assure full optimization of plant systems and processes

•          Implement Management of Change

•          Participate in plant hazard reviews

•          Manage all plant personnel matters including recruiting, performance management, disciplinary issues, compensation, training , company policy compliance, and all other associated responsibilities

•          Prepare and ensure proper training and compliance with plant emergency plans

•          Manage OSHA regulations and requirements, safety program training and compliance, and reporting and record keeping requirements

•          Prepare operational plans and implement production schedules to meet the business goals

•          Identify productivity improvement opportunities in the following areas: manufacturing cost reduction, waste handling and reduction, raw materials and utilities, and process reliability

•          Identify, develop, and implement improved operating and control strategies to achieve productivity objectives. Develop, communicate, and monitor tracking programs and metrics for plant optimization

Job Requirements

 

Education Requirements

Technical Degree required, BS in Chemical Engineering preferred.

Work Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum of 10 years of chemical processing experience including supervisory responsibilities. Biodiesel or oil processing experience preferred.
