Overview: The primary responsibility of the French (Canada) Translation Coordinator is to coordinate Scentsy’s translation services with external translation companies and vendors. Secondarily, the Translation Coordinator will be expected to personally translate short and/or urgent French Canadian translations on demand when necessary. Responsibilities:
  • Work with Scentsy Marketing and Communications team to translate printed, web-based and audio training and marketing materials for Quebec markets primarily, other markets as needed
  • Coordinate delivery of translation files for specific projects to and from translators, staying on time and within budget
  • Track and report on status of translation files and progress of projects
  • Communicate roadblocks, issues and changes in delivery dates to team manager, creative director and international team
  • Coordinate development of culture and language-specific tools with input from international strategy and program team
  • Build / develop relationships with multiple external translation firms to translate product packaging, sales and business tools, websites, training and corporate content into French Canadian
  • Work with translation companies, international team manager and other translation coordinators to establish and maintain language- and/or country-specific style guides, glossaries and specific Scentsy term dictionaries
  • Investigate and make recommendations on external language translation services
  • Work across all Scentsy departments to deliver news and updates as needed for specific markets or languages
  • Attend meetings and represent needs of specific countries, markets or languages in developing marketing material, websites, events and/or training
  • Follow detailed instructions
  • Solve straightforward problems and seek guidance as needed
  • Research, gather and analyze information related to specific assignments

  • Integrate knowledge of basic concepts, principles and theories of area of specialization

  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience working in start-up / high-growth business environment a plus
    • Working knowledge of language(s) other than English a plus
    • Works well in collaborative, team environments
    • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
    • Desire to work hard and contribute in a fast-paced organization
    • Sense of humor required
    • 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must be able to write and speak French Canadian fluently
    • Ability to prioritize projects, manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines
    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Must have working knowledge of computers and all applicable software
    • Ability to sit and stand  for extended periods of time

     

    Education and Experience Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • BA or BS preferred, not required
    • Second language preferred
    • 2 – 4 years relevant experience required
