Sr. IT Application Analyst

 

Purpose  Provide IT production support for the business applications used by Trading, Mid-Office Risk Management and Back Office Accounting departments.

Job Functions

 

Essential Functions

Provide IT production support for the business applications used by the Trading (Sungard Zainet), Mid-Office Risk Management (Sungard Risk Analytics), and Back Office Accounting departments.

 

System problem resolution – including troubleshooting issues, identifying root cause, submitting tickets to vendor as needed. 

 

Perform updates to system reports, interfaces and other solutions supported by the IT department based on business drivers.

 

Support vendor relationship for 3rd party applications, becoming internal expert and assisting with the development of the maintenance plan

 

Work with the system users to identify process improvement opportunities.  

Evaluate functional requirements for system enhancement projects. 

 

Follow the IT System Development Life Cycle standards to design, develop and implement technical solutions.

 

Participate in the system demand management review and prioritization process

 

Ensure compliance with all general computing controls for development of solutions, changes management and security.

Job RequirementsRequirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements and provide after-hours support as needed

 

Expert level ability in using a personal computer and Microsoft Office products

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education /Experience

 

B.S. MIS , Computer Science or related discipline

 

A minimum of 4 years Information Technology analysis, design, development, integration and productions support experience

 

A minimum of 2-3 years Microsoft development experience with the Visual Studio .Net framework, C#, SQL Server, Analysis Services, DTS, Reporting Services, SharePoint and Web Services.

 

A minimum of 2 years technical support for energy trading and risk management systems. 

 

Sungard Aligne product experience preferred (TRM, Analytics, GBO)

 

Strong system and process documentation skills.
