Job Description Sr. Supply Chain Manager The Senior Supply Chain Manager will be accountable for the success of the client and the client’s customers. Ongoing responsibilities will include the management of staffing, training, achievement of key factor performance objectives and measurements, cost reduction, customization, engineering, continuous improvement initiatives, and account P&L results. This individual will lead a team comprised of Account Managers and logistics associates and is ultimately accountable for identifying, designing, developing, and engineering continuous improvements in service to the client. Responsibilities will include hands on problems solving with customer, suppliers, carriers, and internal Schneider resources This position will interface with a variety of Schneider Logistics teams and other Schneider business resources to identify the most significant opportunities for focus and resolution. Manage a team of associates on site at clients facilities to successfully meet contracted performance parameters and introduce strategic initiative programs Work with Director and Account Managers to develop associates and introduce new associates as required through, interviews and profile reviews Provide leadership to the Account Managers and Account team members. Manage projects as developed with the customer, Account Managers and SLI Director of Operations to identify and implement cost reduction/service improvement initiatives. Be responsible to ensure proper communication is provided between Schneider and the customer and that periodic operations, strategic/project planning and Account reviews are occurring. Be responsible for the transfer of Schneider corporate directives and information. Represent account in regard to process enhancements and improvements initiatives and ensure proper documentation, follow through and tracking is in place. Responsible for all performance metric reporting and presentations. Communicate effectively and build a professional relationship with internal / external customers and strive to exceed customer’s total service expectations. Manage outside supplier relationships, including carriers, warehouse providers and other vendors to ensure customer’s supply chain is adequately provided for. Assist and provide support to Schneider Bid Team for carrier bids as outlined in the contract and ensure timely and accurate implementation.
Job Requirements Sr. Supply Chain Manager College degree required in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field. 5+ years of Logistics/Supply Chain Management experience. 3+ years leadership experience required.. Working knowledge of Contracts Demonstrated Financial Management skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive working relationships at various levels of the organizations. Ability to confront issues constructively and in a professional manner. Ability to receive constructive criticism from multiple sources and act on that advice. Coach, mentor, and lead an effective team in achieving business results. Ability to make thoughtful decisions and take appropriate action. Ability to think strategically and apply knowledge to continuous improvements. Demonstrate initiative, stress tolerance, and attention to detail. Strong computer and analytical skills. (Advanced Excel, Powerpoint and Access capabilities) Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
