Job Description

The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for daily supervision of the Operations Department, which includes supervision of Bus Drivers, Field Supervisors and the Training Supervisor. This position supports the Operations Manager in all aspects of managing the Operations Department.  

Some specific responsibilities of the Assistant Operations Manager include but are not limited to preparation of  weekly payroll, monitoring Driver records, maintenance of  incident logs, planning bus assignments in collaboration with Maintenance Director, assisting the Operations Manager in planning and scheduling of quarterly Driver trainings meetings, and reporting all accidents and incidents.

The Assistant Operations Manager communicates with other CCTA departments including Planning and Marketing to ensure  customers are properly educated in regards to interruptions, cancellations and detours of our service routes, and attends interdepartmental meetings as required.

The Assistant Operations Manager is an active participant in recruiting and training new Drivers.

The Assistant Operations Manager leads the investigations and resolutions of customer complaints and compliments.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a college degree or five years experience in public transportation and must possess 3-5 years of supervisory experience, as well as some public relations experience. Computer proficiency is required.


In addition, the ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills. A CDL and clean driving record are required.
