Correct Care Solutions (CCS) is a unique team of professionals who provide health care services to correctional facilities nationwide. CCS is currently seeking a Part time Dentist for our York County Jail located in Alfred, Maine. This is a part time position, working 2 hours per week (day shift). Job Purpose: Dentists provide the dental services to inmate patients. They abide by the security regulations of the facility and report to the Health Services Administrator. They must maintain CME requirements for continued dental practice in the State. Shift: Part Time - 2 hours - week Location: York County Jail, Alfred, ME Job Responsibilities: 1. Monitors need for dental supplies and equipment
2. Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extraction of teeth in accordance with dental policies
3. Perform dental examination in accordance with the requirements of the facility
4. Takes impressions for dental appliances, if indicated, sending prosthesis to outside dental labs
5. Instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques
6. Ensures progress note documentation is in SOAP format, problem oriented, legible and is dated, timed and signed
7. Keeps patient information confidential and respects patients’ rights to privacy, in accordance with accepted confidentiality practices for incarcerated individuals
8. Provides in-service training for health staff members on appropriate issues such as dental hygiene, dental care, dental emergencies and techniques
9. Provides input into facility mandatory committees, when requested, such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Infection Control, Quality Improvement, and Medical Audit Committee as requested by Director of Nursing and H.S.A
10. Must obtain and maintain security clearance
11. Must maintain privileges
12. Post Orders, if applicable, per site contract
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
