Job Description

The Systems Manager will strategically coordinate the System Engineers Team to ensure 24/7 coverage of the infrastructure and timely addressing of any technical issues; as well as allocation to tasks and projects to meet department objectives. The System manager will work on multiple projects and priorities, ensuring deadlines are met, and communications flows to all proper parties. The System manager will work directly with the IT Director on budgets and planning, ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of business information, maintaining and upgrading software, and ensuring compliance with external regulations and policy controls.

Under direct supervision of the Director of IT, performs the following duties and responsibilities. Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned.

Provide technical support for all Intralot, Inc. systems to ensure 24/7, fully operational conditions. Identify and facilitate conflict resolution and act as coach, leader, catalyst, and facilitator with Team Members. Plan, directs and reviews activities of personnel under direct supervision to ensure proper response and support coverage. Promote growth of Team Members through established developmental goals, competencies, guidance, and counseling as well as performance management and hiring. Install and maintain Windows, AIX, and Linux operating systems. Perform system tuning and security audits of systems. Ensure proper security policies and procedures exist and are properly implemented, in cooperation with the security department. Monitor and manage the performance and uptime of systems utilizing proprietary or other open source tools, and make recommendations to improve performance or processes.. Create and ensure implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to system availability, system maintenance, data archiving, disaster recovery, and securing and patching. Ensure proper response to alerts within the appropriate time frame and resolve critical issues with minimal impact to production systems. Promote growth of Team Members through established developmental goals, competencies, guidance, and counseling of System Engineers.
  • Job RequirementsEducation, Training and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Advanced knowledge of UNIX/Windows system administration Advanced knowledge of at least 2 of the following: HACMP Veritas Net Backup Microsoft Clustering technologies NIM VMware and vCenter VIO (Virtual I/O server) IBM Hardware Advanced knowledge of backup technologies Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking Advanced knowledge of SAN/NAS technology Enterprise hardware knowledge is a plus General hardware and software problem diagnostic skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Knowledgeable of ISO 27001 Standard and current security trends and their application. Strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with PowerShell, PowerCLI and remote Windows/Linux administration Ability to understand Intralot, Inc. software and hardware applications Ability to work in a team environment with multiple projects and priorities.
