JOB TITLE:

Registered Nurse (RN)

REPORTS TO:

District Operations Manager

FSLA STATUS:

Non-Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RN is accountable for the performance and tracking of all professional respiratory service functions within the assigned region. The RN educates LPN’s, patients and healthcare providers in the function of respiratory equipment.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge and a high quality of proficiency in the equipment categories that are provided (oxygen therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB therapy, chest physiotherapy instruction, artificial airway care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, nasal CPAP, apnea monitor, ventilator monitoring, mechanical ventilation, other equipment as may be designated).
  • Provide education and support on all equipment as set out above to patient, LPN’s and referral sources.
  • Complete daily activities as assigned in sufficient quantity to achieve a high level of work productivity within the service group.
  • Set up clinical equipment and provide complete patient instruction according to established policy and procedure.
  • Complete follow-up contact and documentation, including Plans of Care, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Communicate findings to physician and staff as necessary.
  • Assist Customer Service Representative in collection of data for respiratory patients.
  • Obtain all information from patients at time of delivery as requested by Center staff.
  • Report promptly to work on a daily basis and maintain acceptable attendance record.
  • Assist with cleaning, inspection and packaging of respiratory therapy equipment in Center.
  • Participate, as required, in On-Call shifts and respond promptly to On-Call personnel.
  • Use sales and marketing tools provided by Pacific Pulmonary Services and oneself for more productive efforts.
  • Recommend additional product lines for Pacific Pulmonary Services to offer.
  • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings.
  • Complete all job functions in a safe, orderly and courteous manner.
  • Perform any other duties that may from time to time be assigned by management.
  • Review of sleep therapy patient files and clinical supervision of LPN staff.
  • Job RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • RN needs to be in duly licensed, good standing in the state of New York.
    • RN must have experience in Sleep Therapy.
    • Respirator Fit clearance.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Must possess good people skills, be able to delegate and follow-up.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Lifting and loading of equipment into and out of delivery vehicles and patient homes.
    • Minimum physical requirements are the ability lift 52 lbs. squatting and 100 lbs. leveraged.
    • A physical examination by a PPS designated doctor will be required to certify that the individual can meet this minimum physical requirement.
