Job Description The Demand Planner is responsible for analysis and maintenance of monthly sales forecast managed in the Atlas system via Microsoft Dynamics AX. The Demand Planner monitors outliers and engage the sales team creating situational understanding in support of changes to the business and the forecast. The Demand Planner will create, maintain, and utilize specific statistical forecast models based on the customer profile and demand volatility.




Ensure that a consistent and time fenced forecast is implemented and maintained across the Peppers and Vinegar business in collaboration with the Sales Team.  Question, support and seek follow-up on items that seem to be missing or inconsistent. Generate baseline forecasts from relevant sales history, making adjustments where necessary using inputs of statistical forecasting, promotional activity, innovation, seasonal demand and market trends Maintain a three year forecast based on the latest sales input and budgeted volumes to help drive agricultural and procurement forecasts for out years. Develop system driven forecast accuracy measures aligned with the corporate standards, in addition specific measures driving value within the Vinegar and Peppers businesses.  Provide recommendations on where reliance on statistical forecasts may drive improvement over current historical sales based forecasts by utilizing forecast accuracy data. Ownership of consensus and demand review and all demand management elements of S&OP process Develop a work flow and communication with Supply Planning to manage fulfillment of demand and develop inventory strategies on existing products, new products and product phase-outs Create, analyze, and track sales and operations reports and look for trends, opportunities, issues, etc. that impact demand. Develop specific criteria and differentiation for various forms of communication.  Ensure consistency of data pulled from the AX system into Atlas.  Create high-level checks to ensure errors in data transfer are not occurring. Interface closely with sales, operations, finance, purchasing, marketing, the plants and other departments as needed to ensure service level targets are met Utilize Exception based report tools that provide actionable, fact based insights when data overrides may be necessary. Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas of opportunity and process improvement Track and reconcile KPI metrics versus established targets.  

Job Requirements•       Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Mathematics or related field preferred; minimum Associates in a related discipline.

•       2-5 years in an analytical role in consumer products or supply chain is preferred.

•       Experience within the food industry is preferred. 

•       Computer literacy required. Previous knowledge or experience with various Demand Planning systems, including Atlas is preferred.

•       Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with particular focus on Excel

•       Data mining skills including the ability to retrieve, manipulate, analyze and interpret information critical to success.

•       Strong time, project management and prioritization skills required.

•       Ability to learn and/or understand highly technical information and planning techniques including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Resource Planning (MRP), inventory and production control.

•       Must be able to manage multiple projects and complete projects on time.

•       Must work well under pressure and be highly responsive to short deadlines. 

•       Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, analytical and driven to succeed.

•       Ability to interface effectively with people is essential.

•       Strong mathematical aptitude, possess a natural ability to translate, calculate, interpret and communicate data relative to demand and capacities requirements.

•       Excellent numerical and measurement skills: making algebraic calculations & statistics.

•       Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

•       Ability to make presentations to small groups.

•       Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
