JOB DESCRIPTION

Idaho Power is seeking a CADD Technician I to read, understand, and draft parcels from legal descriptions utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D. He/she will research easements, right of ways, and records of surveys to accomplish this task.

 

Note: This job is being filled as a temporary position. Employees in temporary/non-regular job classifications are eligible for medical benefits only after completing one year of employment.  In addition, temporary/non-regular employees may contribute to the company sponsored 401k program upon hire, with the company match vesting after completing 12 continuous months of employment.  Temporary/non-regular employees are only eligible to apply for internal job postings if the posting is in their current department and in their current job classification.

 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY


Knowledge of:

  • AutoCAD 2008 or newer and AutoCAD Civil3D 2008 or newer OR Land Desktop
  • Fundamentals of Surveying
  • Land survey work involving roads; right of ways; and routing
  • Reading/drafting legal descriptions
  • Basic electricity concepts
  • File management
  • Prefer knowledge of ERSI Arc Map, civil or structural drafting, and Deed Plotter

  • Skilled in:

  • Meet accepted deadlines

  • Extract data from various GIS databases, such as BLM & USFS
  • Import & export data as shapefiles, pdfs, zip files, dwf’s, etc.
  • Job Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education

    • Certificate of completion of drafting technology program
      OR
    • Equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience to that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities
    • Prefer associates degree in drafting technology

    Experience

    • 2 or more years recent experience in civil drafting utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D (2008 or later)
      AND
      Prior experience drafting a parcel from a legal description
    • Prefer 5 or more years experience in civil drafting utilizing AutoCAD Civil Products
