Open Position: Quality Manager

Description: This is a tremendous opportunity to join a growing company as their Quality Manager. You will promote and advance food safety and bio-security. You will guide and facilitate ongoing quality improvements. The company is looking for a dynamic individual with the Food Quality experience and skills to champion the Quality System and Food Safety System per the SQF 2000 requirements. You will enjoy the opportunity to interact and represent the company with outside media sources through presentations to public groups, articles for publication and direct involvement with the company’s management and board of directors.

Company: The Company is one of the largest producers of cheese and whey-based ingredients. The company produces premium style American, Cheddar and Monterrey Jack as part of their product offering. The company also produces a highly-purified whey protein product for its customers. Their customers are among the top global food processors. The company operates a state-of-the-art cheese and whey manufacturing facility. Their products are produced in controlled environments taking advantage of current good manufacturing practices and strict standard operating procedures.

Job Requirements

What You will be Doing:

Quality Manager:

 

  1. Per SQF 2000 requirements, champion the Quality and Food Safety Systems

  2. Manage the QA Laboratory to produce timely accurate results

  3. Site SQF Practitioner managing the development and implementation of the SQF 2000 system

  4. Validate and Document changes to the Food Safety System

  5. Aid suppliers for quality compliance

  6. Evaluate finished product to determine product release

  7. Participate is all audits, State, USDA, FDA, and PMO

  8. Employee training

  9. Maintain and manage QA budget

What we’d like to see in Your Background:   

  1. Bachelors degree from a 4 year college or university

  2. 4 years of related experience

  3. HACCP Certification

  4. SQF Practitioner (Certified)

  5. Ability to write and deliver speeches and compose articles for publication.

  6. Respond to inquiries or customer complaints

  7. Statistical data interpretation
