Job Description Long established and successful RI based designer and manufacturer is seeking a Product Engineer with a strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles. The Product Engineer will work with the Director of Engineering to design characterization programs utilizing bench instrumentation and some test automation to gather performance data under varying electrical and environmental conditions. You will analyze that data to understand the capability of the products at specifications.  

Working with one or more technology/manufacturing partners, the Product Manager will manage all the technical aspects such as cost, producibility, quality, performance, reliability and intended lifespan. Also alignment to current and future customer requirements and will have eventual ownership all technical aspects of a magnetic sensor electronics component product line.

Compensation commensurate with years of experience and BSEE or MSEE degree requirement.

□             Participate with internal/external teams on New Product Designs

□             Design, develop, and execute electrical and mechanical characterization and qualification/reliability programs utilizing strong knowledge of Electrical Engineer principles

□             Utilizing software tools such as Excel and Minitab will produce reports containing statistical analysis of attribute distributions, identifying significant trends, and understanding capabilities.

□             Support Sales & Marketing with detailed product knowledge and work directly with current and potential customers on New Business Opportunities as well as resolving product issues.

□             Work with Product Manager and Applications Engineer to respond rapidly to business opportunities.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:

□             MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, etc.

□             Software tools for design and analysis such as CAD, Mathcad, Minitab,

□             Lab equipment and instrumentation such as scales, environmental chamber, gauss meter, DVM, oscilloscope, counter/timer, simple and advanced data acquisition systems

□             Familiarity with programing, especially in NI LabVIEW

Job Requirements

□             MUST HAVE A BSEE or MSEE with strong core electrical engineering principles

□             Electronic components experience, magnetic senor product preferred

□             Experience with semiconductor components and processes preferred.

□             Physics and/or Materials knowledge a plus

□             Ability to analyze and understand data and create reports

□             Prepare and deliver technical presentation to internal and external teams

□             Familiarity with industry standards such as Mil-Std, JEDEC, IPC, Automotive a plus

□             Trained in methodologies such as SQC, Six-Sigma, Lean, FEMA, ISO

□             Background in AMR/GMR/TMR magnetic thin film sensors and/or Hall Effect preferred

□             Physics and/or Materials knowledge a plus

□             Travel required -15-25% (Initial orientation on new programs may require extended stay)
