Job Description The Opportunity:

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Process Engineering Manager. Process Engineering Manager (Lewiston, ID)


Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Process Engineering and Equipment Maintenance departments.
  • Identify and develop tactical strategies to accomplish the organization’s objectives relating to machine and assembly processes.
  • Manage the quality, performance, and reliability of assembly processes, materials, and machinery.
  • Support manufacturing operations with line down situations or process/materials issues affecting quality, reliability, and product shipments.
  • Drive improvements in assembly quality, efficiency, downtime, and scrap.
  • Manage team performance, project commitments, and deadlines.
  • Develop and plan budgets for the expansion of manufacturing operations.
  • Encourage staff professional development.

  • Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (physics, chemistry, material science, …)
  • Minimum five years experience in manufacturing or process engineering
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Experience with problem solving techniques including Design of Experiments
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing machinery
  • Experience in manufacturing using quality improvement tools
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good understanding of project management concepts and tools
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Ability to adhere to SEL's tobacco free workplace policy
  • Negative drug test result(s)

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic manufacturing business systems
