General Summary: 
The Program Manager, Marketing is responsible forimplementing integrated marketing plans that increase AMTA membership and non-dues revenue.  In this capacity, the program manager works to understand and define the needs of massage therapists, massage therapy student and massage therapy educators. This position will work with appropriate departments within the organization to implement business/marketing plans and ensure that those plans are on budget and on deadline.  The program manager is also responsible for keeping informed about new strategies and tactics to reach our current and potential audiences, including the use of social networking and internet technologies. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements business and marketing plans that respond to the needs of the markets assigned.  Ensures goals are achieved by implementing plans on budget and on deadline;
  • Writes clear, concise and persuasive promotional copy for emails, letters, sell sheets, posters and advertisements directed at members, non-members and consumers;
  • Manages assigned broadcast email, direct mail, print, advertisement and web marketing campaigns from concept to delivery;
  • Develops and implements integrated promotional plans that support the overall AMTA brand and uses the various available print and electronic vehicles effectively and efficiently to reach the goals;
  • Manages relationships with designers, copywriters, printers and other associated vendors. Must be able to negotiate pricing and timing to ensure promotions remain on schedule and within budget;
  • Develops web communication vehicles for members including webinars;
  • Job Requirements

    • Ability to draft various types of planning documents including business plans, marketing plans, annual plans and budgets;
    • Experience in setting goals, objectives, strategies, tactics and measures for marketing campaigns. 
    • Experience with the pricing and discounting; sales and delivery; and communication and promotions of member benefits and/or products.
    • Experience executing promotional campaigns via web, broadcast email and print;
    • Excellent overall communicator, including written, oral, and interpersonal; ability to write clear and compelling copy a must;
    • Experience managing vendor relationships, collaborating with designers and copywriters, and handling inventory, fulfillment and service issues in a product marketing environment;
    • Familiarity with utility of social networking sites for business purposes;
    • Strong project management skills including attention to detail and follow-through, as well as ability to manage several projects at once;

    Education and Experience:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field with at least 3-5 years experience, preferably in a membership marketing, consumer marketing, product management or product development environment;
    • Experience with a membership organization preferred;
    • Computer literacy, specifically with MS Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.  Familiarity with interactive online media, including web-driven, broadcast e-mail and social networking.

     

    This position may require some evening and weekend work.  Must have the ability to travel.
