Scope

  The Plant Accountant is an important member of the accounting  team and is responsible for maintaining key accounting  processes.

 

 

               Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in costing new products
  • Assist in monthly sales forecast and annual budget processes
  • Perform month end journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and analyze customer chargeback accounts and issue debits and credits to customers as necessary
  • Work with Quality and Materials departments in issuing supplier debits for non-conformance issues
  • Issue credits for customer warranty claims
  • Assist in annual physical inventory
  • Assist and perform ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits
  • Participate in plant continuous improvement analyses
  • Entering account payable for non-productive inventory into SAP; investigating and correcting any issues
  • Monitor negative margin parts on a monthly basis for evaluation.
  • Perform profitability analysis on individual products.

    Job RequirementsEducation and Experience

    • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance required, CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
    • SAP, Hyperion or other ERP experience desired
    • 0-5 years of accounting experience in a logistics/manufacturing environment (Will accept applications form College Grads internship experience preferred)
