Job Description

 

SUMMARY

We are looking for an instruction design professional to design, develop and manage our online and in-person trainings. This role will also be responsible for management and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

●  Create engaging online and in-person learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer

●  Translate instructor led content into easy-to-understand training materials, including activity guides, eLearning, videos, and more.

●  Help determine the proper balance between instructor led and web based training opportunities.

●  Drive learning and development strategy and approach planning

●  Develop success metrics to assess the effectiveness and business impacts of training solutions, measure results and propose action plans for continuous improvements

●  Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training opportuntites and needs on a regular basis

●  Assist in management of consultants contracted to develop training content and materials.

●  Research and stay current with emerging educational technologies and utilize innovative approaches to design that incorporate the latest adult learning principles

●  Provide program management expertise and support for AESP’s certificate program(s)

●  Participate in administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), including course uploading, testing and reporting

●  Assist with logistics for trainings

●  Other duties as required

●  Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

●  Effective project management skills

●  Able to present a professional and positive demeanor with members

●  Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task effectively and operate under pressure to meet deadlines

●  Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a team member, and take initiative when appropriate

●  Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

●  Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge

●  Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System

●  Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard, desired but not required.

●  Energy services industy knowledge is desired but not required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BS or BA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar

2-5 years’ experience in designing, creating, or delivering training courses, will be considerd in lieu of education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

●  Ability to convey information in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner to a variety of audiences.

●  Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

●  Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportion to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

●  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
