Job Description The Opportunity:

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Machinist/Mold Maker. Machinist/Mold Maker


Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on injection molds.
  • Ability to fabricate modern precision molds from blue prints and layouts.
  • Fabricate tools, fixtures, molds and other components in support of manufacturing.
  • Good knowledge of all areas of machine shop theory and practice.
  • Ability to set-up and operate all machine shop equipment, including milling, lathe, EDM and surface grinders; with the ability to hold extremely close tolerances.
  • Train and mentor to lower level toolmakers/machinists.
  • Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on machine shop equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels for machine shop tools and supplies.
  • Adhere to all shop safety procedures.
  • Follow and improve shop processes.


    • Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years machinist and tool making experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience with MasterCam
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and general communication skills
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)
