Job Purpose

The Sr. Sales Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to key circuit board customers within the framework of the company's philosophy, goals and objectives.  This engineer has achieved a level of technical expertise in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) drilling and fabrication technology to be recognized as functional leader among peers responsible for training, coaching, developing and influencing technical performance, sales and service goals in the business unit. 




  •  Responsible for analyzing printed circuit board customer processes through DOE and SPC to provide lowest cost solutions.

  • Define and communicate to customer detail of cost savings achieved through implementation of process improvements.

  • Development of new business, work with PCB Product Manager to establish a plan for new business development.

  • Implement and oversee tracking of key measurable for primary accounts to ensure we are meeting customers’ cost, productivity, quality and service level goals.

  • Responsible for building relationships at customer through regular interaction and collaboration on technical issues.

  • Provide guidance and technical training and assistance to other engineers.

  • Acts as a team leader on major or significant projects.

  • Lead on multi facility accounts, oversee project management for all facilities, and report to  customer Senior Management on progress.


    Technical (knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Knowledge of PCB Manufacturing, repointing and tool management defects and resolutions

  • Maintain current knowledge of the market, key competitors and latest technology

  • Apply technical knowledge related to product design, equipment and process systems across functional areas

  • Possess technical writing skills. Collect and assemble technical data and present the information in a professional, written, presentation format

  • Job Requirements

    Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    • (4) Year-College Degree or a combination of experience and education (Mechanical Engineering background preferred).

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in Technical Sales environment

    • Must pass criminal background check and drug test.

    • Basic math skills with ability to convert American standard to metric.

    • Basic: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Database, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
