Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for a Part-time Administrative Assistant in our Parks Maintenance Division, working 30 hours per week. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Administrative Assistant acts as the first point of contact for both internal and external customers that contact the Park Division. The incumbent provides information, resolves issues and/or refers customers to other City staff as appropriate. This position also provides general administrative support including the preparation and distribution of a wide-variety of correspondence, purchasing and invoicing, budget and payroll reports. Responsibilities also include maintaining and updating hardcopy and electronic database files. Will also help coordinate and work at City-sponsored festivals and events, which may require working some evening and week-end hours.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: HS/GED required with two years administrative/clerical experience. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve customer inquiries in a positive and timely manner. Basic accounting knowledge helpful and strong keyboarding skills and working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel spreadsheets are needed. Must have the ability to work 30 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with flexibility to work evening, weekend and/or holiday hours on occasion. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background investigation. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour with leave and retirement benefits.
