We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Sales Representative.

 

 

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Identify and secure profitable revenue within the assigned geographic area. Manage new and established accounts for continued revenue and profit growth and achievement of strategic sales objective goals. Identify situations requiring effective negotiation and maintain positive client relationships. Interact between other departments such as Linehaul, Pricing, Operations, etc.

 

 

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years of Sales experience preferred
  • LTL Sales experience strongly desired
  • Minimum 2 yrs of LTL Transportation Operations experience preferred
  • Able to invest time outside normal business hours to facilitate business meetings and/or customer relationship building may include working evenings/weekends
  • Has current understanding or ability to learn about key business drivers or indicators or customers
  • Ability to align the Saia resources to fit customer requirements and differentiate our service versus the competition
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely while adapting communications content to level of audience
  • Ability to listen actively and to respond to questions with complete and accurate answers
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with various people at all levels
  • Ability to influence decision-makers
  • Must be assertive, goal oriented, resourceful, persistent, creative
  • Must act with appropriate self-assurance; remaining poised in uncertain situations
  • Must maintain responsibility and flexibility in working with others to achieve a common goal

    Job Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years of Sales experience
    • LTL Sales experience strongly desired
    • Minimum 2 yrs of LTL Transportation Operations experience
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Knowledge of AS400
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
