Job Description

Our client is a financial services firm in Weehawken, NJ that is looking for an Associate Director, Event Planning for their Event Marketing department.  Position is a Consultant role and offers upto $45/hr +OT.

 

Position Description:

 

  • Oversee  all aspects of planning and execution for corporate business and client events.
  • Provides assistance with local event review and implementation of departmental processes and procedures.
  • Manage 15-20 programs a year, to include the following:
  • Planning and process management
  • Internal client management
  • Attendee Management
  • Concept/Idea generation
  • Budget
  • Venue / site evaluation and selection
  • Vendor Management
  • Collateral creation
  • On-Site Management
  • Website content and functionality
  • Contract negotiation
  • Communicate with manager, internal team and clients, Accounting, Creative Services, and event vendors (production, décor, photography, travel).
  • Strategic planning, to include assessment and management of risk within project.
  • Regular reporting of event status to department and larger team, evaluation of event successes, and identification of areas for improvement.
  • Job Requirements

    Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree is a must
    • 5-7 years of event management experience in a complex corporate environment.
    • Financial services experience a must
    • Heavy focus on client events preferred (golf events, sponsorships, thought leadership, experiential, etc.).
    • Proficiency in web-based registration software (Starcite)
    • Comfortable assisting with programs through development, execution, and analysis.
    • Strong event protocol/process and production knowledge.
    • Event Marketing industry knowledge including trends in food, design, production and products.
    • Well versed in event and menu design, event related costing and budget generation
    • Possess strong creative instincts and sound business judgement.
    • Ability to learn quickly and integrate strong event planning / marketing background with the Firm approach and brand guidelines.
    • Ability to multi-task programs and projects in a fast-paced environment with short timeframes.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
    • Ability to travel (40-50%)
