We have an immediate opening for a dedicated and strong Tolling and ITS Systems Engineer for our Baltimore, MD Office.



RK&K is searching for a talented Engineering or IT professional to join our team. With clients throughout the eastern seaboard, RK&K supports the toll industry as a client’s representative in the Toll, IT and ITS systems, including needs assessments; development of procurement documents systems; oversight of detailed design, implementation and testing; and ongoing operational assessments.  We are looking for an experienced engineer, capable of applying technical professional competencies in Toll Systems, Toll Operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to investigate the needs of our clients and develop comprehensive solutions to operational and technical challenges.


Complete assessments of clients’ Toll, IT and ITS infrastructure Complete assessments of clients’ Toll, Traffic and ITS operations Develop specifications for Toll, IT and ITS systems, including System Requirements Documents, System Performance Requirements, Operational Business Rules, and Procurement Documents Design, conduct and/or oversee system testing, from Factory Acceptance Test through Performance Validation Test Develop and analyze database structures and system reporting Coordinate toll project activities and complete job functions with small project -oriented teams of professionals and be able to support direct interaction with clients in project meetings, design reviews, operational assessments and project development  

Required Education, Skills and Experience

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in tolling and/or ITS Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a related field A solid understanding of all electronic tolling Strong written, graphical and verbal communication skills for the development of high quality deliverables, including progress reports, operational concepts, technology reviews and design evaluations Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task  

Other Duties

Some travel will be required, including overnight. Travel requirements will depend on specific projects and locations.  Travel in excess of a workweek in a single trip or 20% in aggregate is not expected.
