Job Description The Senior Data Consultant will be responsible for supporting the data and analytic needs of Optum's HealthCare Technology Pipeline (HTP). These data and analytic needs include: 1) environmental scanning of emerging technology including new drugs, devices, and procedures, 2) the economic modeling of new and existing healthcare technology pipeline, 3) upload and maintenance of HTP website. Besides supporting HTP product operations, the Consultant is also part of the Pharmacy Analytics and Strategy Consulting team and will assist other pharmacy analytics projects as assigned.   Responsibilities include: Develop an Access database of emerging technology that can be used for HTP operations, including pipeline and custom reports. Perform economic modeling and analysis under the supervision of actuarial staff and HTP team lead Extract claims data and conduct research needed for economic modeling. Maintain and manage HTP website contents Perform data extraction, cleansing, analysis, aggregation, and summary for pharmacy analytics co projects as needed.
Job RequirementsBachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics, Statistics. Information management, health services administration, or a related degree. Three or more years of experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing health insurance administrative data. Advanced level of proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Excel and Access) Three or more years of data extraction and management  using SQL or SAS Basic level of proficiency in website development and management Knowledge in health care technology pipeline, pharmacy industry, or medical device industry.
