Job Description
Together, we're better... with people like YOU on our team! Public Service Credit Union is looking for our next talented mortgage loan processor for our headquarters location in Denver. As a mortgage processor, you'll process all types of mortgage loan requests for PSCU members, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and quality member service while guaranteeing financial security for the credit union and its members. You'll also provide general administration support to the Mortgage Department to include disbursals, matching faxes to files, printing closing documents, and contacting members to inform them of loan status. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Processes all types of mortgage loan requests within established guidelines, policies and procedures. * Initiates compliance and verification checklists. * Ensures receipt of required documentation from members, vendors, and other related sources. * Verifies regulatory and compliance requirements. * Prepares and facilitates delivery of all required preliminary disclosures. * Ensures all documentation received meets approval parameters. * Communicates final decision and arranges closing with the member and closing branch. * Prepares all necessary loan documentation while ensuring accuracy through supporting documentation. * Verifies and sets disbursements. * Tax return analysis. * Basic loan underwriting. 2.Responsible for handling phone calls and correspondence from members with questions or concerns regarding their mortgage and provide timely and accurate resolutions. 3.Develop a well-rounded knowledge of all Public Service CU departments; know how and when to refer members, as needed. 4.Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit union's values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics. 5.Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
1.Proficient knowledge of mortgage products 2.Proficient knowledge of Fannie Mae's online mortgage commitment and loan delivery procedures 3.Proficient knowledge of real estate related title work and lien verification procedures 4.Proficient knowledge of Fannie Mae, FHLB and RESPA guidelines 5.Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to customers and business partners 6.Provide the highest level of quality service to all internal and external members 7.Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with a positive attitude 8.Contribute to building a positive team spirit 9.Utilize skillful listening and speaking skills 10.Exhibit support for the organization's goals, values, initiatives and cost control 11.Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements 12.Prioritize and plan work activities, demonstrating the use of efficient time management 13.Willing and able to learn/apply new skills and software applications; adaptable to change 14.Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets 15.Knowledge of basic underwriting and tax return analysis One to three years of mortgage servicing experience and demonstrated knowledge of the mortgage industry and loan structuring is required. Candidates must possess solid knowledge of and experience with FNMA's D/U Automated Underwriting System and loan delivery system. The successful candidate will be an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Computer experience is a must; proficiency with FICS Loan Producer is a plus. Required Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A two-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school is a plus. Additional Comments: Equipment used regularly: PC, printer, phone, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Working Conditions: * Office environment; possible movement between departments and/or locations * Some lifting up to approximately 25 pounds; occasional stooping, bending or stretching. * Physical ability to maintain continuous hours of standing or sitting. * Manual dexterity to use a mouse, keyboard, calculator, typewriter and phone. * Visual ability to interpret data from computer monitor and written documents.
