Job Description As a Senior Director within our organization you will have the opportunity to perform the following types of activities:   Delivery Execution and Program Oversight (75% Time Allocation): Direct responsibility for the oversight of large scale program execution. Large scale programs are defined as high cost, high complexity and/or high risk. Facilitate development of business segment and enterprise level planning and program objective setting Participate in senior level program funding and prioritization decision processes Provide strategic input to the development of program roadmap and timelines  Create a team oriented work climate that enables professional development and encourages creative solutions and strategies Support the management of resources within programs Support program communication plan and execution Require that quality assurance methods are implemented within the program Provide status updates and review of programs to senior leadership Provide coaching and mentoring of project team with the goal of developing and retaining talent within the organization   Program Quality Assurance or Advisement SME (15% Time Allocation)   •         Act as the Quality Assurance leader on on-going delivery efforts •         Provide subject matter expertise, review, and advisory services in support of client pursuits, account strategies, and sold engagements   Business Development (10% Time Allocation):   Define the business development strategy for a subset of the practice Own and manage sales accounts, leads, pursuits, and proposals Identify and own the development of new consulting solutions that will be brought to market Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients Identify opportunities for sales and business development collaboration with other OptumInsight business segments Present OptumInsight & experiential points of view via conferences, panels, white papers, etc.   Type of projects / pursuits will include:   Payment Cycle Management & Operations Performance Improvement ICD-10 Assessment and Remediation Efforts
Job RequirementsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, Computer or related field preferred 15+ years healthcare background with extensive healthcare operations management experience in claims, service, network, eligibility, etc.; experience and strong knowledge in interfacing with provider networks and risk bearing organizations (RBO) 15+ years of experience leading large-scale consulting engagements or large internal healthcare projects/programs; experience and strong working knowledge of core admin systems, such as HealthRules, TriZetto Facets, QNXT, etc. 15+ years enterprise project/program management experience 8+ years working in a Big 5 or large consulting organization is preferred Experience and credibility interacting with c-level executives as part of pursuit & delivery efforts Experience developing new business and identifying add-on work Experience writing and executing business plans for new consulting solutions Experience leading a team of direct reports Ability to travel up to 80%  ** see note Candidates located near Sacramento, CA or MN are preferred •*  This role requires you to travel 80% of the time.  Location of residence is flexible, but travel is required.  Travel maybe reduced for those living in the Sacramento area.  Travel is out early Monday and back late Thursday.    Company Background   OptumInsight is part of the family of companies that make UnitedHealth Group one of the leaders across most major segments of the US healthcare system.   If you get excited about the life transforming potential of bringing healthcare information to the right place, at the right time, to support crucial decisions, welcome to OptumInsight.   OptumInsight is one of the largest and fastest growing health information companies and the only organization in our industry with the information, technology and consulting expertise to solve the most significant challenges in health and human services.  OptumInsight unites the brightest minds to transform organizations and improve healthcare through information and technology.
