Description: CAD Technician for contract position.
Job Purpose: Will be responsible for creation of 3D models and 2D drawings used to design and communicate information to support procurement and manufacturing. Duties:
* Prepares rough sketches by studying engineering specifications; creating 3D and 2D models of weldment, and assembly drawings used by manufacturing. * Create part and assembly illustration for manuals using 3D models.
* Identifies and verifies specifications by examining engineering documents; performing calculations. Ensure all needed information such as dimensions, tolerances, BOM’s, materials, etc. are accurate and meet drafting standards. * Modifies drawings by studying changes; redrawing system, components, and parts; changing identifications. * Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; conferring with engineers. * Compose and verify Bills of Material and prepare release information.
* Process ECOs. * Working knowledge of GD&T.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
2+ years experience creating 2D and 3D model detail
AutoCAD, CAD, Drafting, Drafting Tools i.e. SolidWorks, Inventor, ProE, Catia, etc.
