We are currently searching for an IT/Compliance Analyst to join our team in our Portland, Oregon Location. 

AVANGRID IT Compliance and Security team’s primary responsibility is to ensure its compliance in accordance to the NERC/CIP/SOX standards.  In addition, maintaining a strong working relationship with internal IT and business teams and external constituents of such regulating bodies.  Therefore, if you have strong Attention to detail, have experience monitoring and overseeing compliance such as timing, documentation and process with a strong knowledge of IT, we want to speak to you!  Please Apply!

As an IT/Compliance Analyst, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the development, implementation, and reporting for IT in the compliance efforts for NERC-CIP.
  • Participate in other IT Compliance programs and projects to ensure that all regulated requirements and IT Control requirements are communicated and adhered to by the IT Team. 
  • Work with subject matter experts from across the companies and IT to provide specialized technical expertise and support for program development, maintenance, performance tracking and reporting.  
  • Support other compliance/regulatory activities within IT, e.g. SOX, Internal Audits.
  • Develop, maintain, and collect audit-related documentation; and coordinate audit responses with all internal and external vendors (auditors) related to compliance and regulatory auditing. 
  • Assist in monitoring and management of security events for IT, including the collection and analysis of logs to avoid and/or address device failures, security threats, etc.
  • Document activities and generate security and compliance reports as required
  • Assist with special projects and other company efforts.

  • Job Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 3 plus years of IT experience with responsibilities in compliance and/or leading IT initiatives. 
    • Able to build strong relationships with key customers of IT services and to collaborate with teams to design effective process/system solutions.
    • Ability to understand and analyze regulatory requirements including FERC/NERC, SOX, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Able to work independently, and have exercised excellent problem-solving, analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability and willingness for limited travel, which may include international.
    • Strong organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience creating / following NERC-CIP compliance procedures and processes
    • 5 plus years of IT experience with responsibilities in compliance and/or leading IT initiatives. 
    • 3 years supporting or administering Microsoft Windows Systems and Environments
    • Knowledge of network switches, firewalls, and routers
    • Project management experience
    • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment for utility companies.
    • Experience in IT Security
    • Experience in a GRC program
    • Microsoft SQL Server Administration
    • Experience with SolarWinds Orion
    • Experience with Vmware vSphere administration
    • Scripting expertise (VB and PowerShell)
