Sr. Network Administrator

Our downtown energy cilent is in need of a lead Sr. Network Administrator to guide the overall strategy, design and implementation of their server, virtualization, network storage and backup environment.  In this role, the successful candidate will work with the newest technologies in a very collaborative environment with a team of engineers at the top of their game.  This role will serve to lead and guide more junior resources as well as serve as a subject matter expert to the support organization. 

Top 5 Skills Needed:
" 5+ years experience as a lead or consultant in a heavy VMware environment.  If candidate comes from an environment that is a product of mergers and acquisitions, this would be ideal. 
" Windows 2008/Windows 7 (DFS and GPO)
" VMWareESX 5.x - experience in a heavy VM ware environment
" Netapp FAS 2040 or comparable SAN storage technologies like EMC
" Current certifications - VCP5 or MCITP OR Bachelor's degree 

Responsibilities:
" Guides the overall strategy of company's server, virtualization, network storage and backup environments
" Provides in-depth knowledge of Windows 2008R2, Windows 7, VMware ESX 5.x and NetApp FAS 2040 technologies
" Provides expertise in the engineering and deployment of virtual/enterprise servers, cloud based services, thin client technologies, network and workstation/desktop infrastructure with a focus on consistent maintenance and operating procedures, capacity planning and security best practices.
" Provides root cause analysis and high level technical troubleshooting
" Implements group policy, automation scripts or system maintenance/monitoring automation to improve uptime and reduce support
" Ensures high availability and high levels of performance for mission critical server systems and business applications
" Manages data center servers and storage hardware, software and vendors
" Installs, configures, modifies and maintains server and storage hardware, software and patches; provides server support related to business applications and other software
" Develops and manages processes and procedures for backup, archive and restoration of company files and applications in accordance with company's data retention standards
" Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse
" Coordinates and participates in projects, audits, service level agreements, system configuration documentation and process development
" Performs high-level troubleshooting and leads problem solving efforts often involving outside vendor and other support personnel
" Mentors junior system administrators and helpdesk and desktop support teams
