Job Description Controller

Blue-chip Columbia medical complex and comprehensive health care network is seeking an experienced hospital Controller. Position directs the Health Services District and its subsidiaries in the maintenance of accounting principles, practices and procedures. Maintains all accounting records and is responsible for the development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, and trends. Also identifies increased revenue possibilities, cost reduction possibilities, and increased reimbursement.

Job RequirementsQualifications are as follows:

B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance. Graduate level degree is a plus.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required plus eight (8) to ten (10) years related healthcare industry experience. Hospital Controller experience required.
Knowledge of Government Accounting Standards and not-for-profit accounting in accordance with U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principals.
Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate the financial condition of the organization to the CFO and other members of hospital leadership.
In-depth knowledge of current trends and developments in healthcare reform and other federal programs.
Displays a commitment to quality of patient care, treatment, and services. Fosters continuous quality improvement. Participates in District-wide performance improvement activities.
Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
