Engineer III - Project Management

The Engineer III should be capable of providing effective project management from project inception through construction and installation. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the project's holistic scope requirements, organize the design resources, supervise the design efforts, generate specifications, coordinate procurement, make fact-based decisions and achieve the company's deliverables regarding system capacity, operability, financials and schedule. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This person will also be involved in the selection of approved contractors and equipment vendors and will decide which systems are best suited for a specific application and how they are to be installed.
Additional duties and responsibilities include:
be familiar with OSHA regulations and by working with safety coordinators
become familiar with Tyson's safety regulations
provide engineering design for new projects and utility systems
coordinate project design work including development, design calculations/analysis, mass balance review and validation, mechanical layouts, piping diagrams, electrical, utility systems, etc.
interact with other engineering disciplines and maintain current project knowledge of project cost and assume responsibility for project cost management
consult with financial personnel for financial analysis exercises and project cost tracking/reporting
interact and coordinate project activities with all levels of Operations and Engineering management
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience preferred.
Experience: 5+ years applicable Engineering experience preferred with a minimum of 3 years' preferred experience in the food industry.
Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs. Microsoft Office preferred. CAD exposure preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
Special Requirements: Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on-time and on-budget while achieving company objectives; knowledge of a variety of the Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering disciplines concepts, best practices, and procedures; working knowledge of applicable codes that pertain to development of Engineering standards.
Travel: Frequent travel is involved, up to 50% - 60%.
This will be supporting prepared foods plants. The successful candidate can be based out of the Fayetteville, AR or Chicago, IL corporate facilities. #LI-AA1
