Demonstrated Technical Competencies to include:

  • Set-up and operate auto-channel machine in a safe and orderly manner.

  • Operates Auto-channel machine with fixtures provided

  • Ensure that the sewing machines are operating correctly.

  • Ensure that powered shears are connected to air supply.

  • Retrieve the folded railroad cartridge layout from the banking area (portable rack).

  • Sew a sew line all the way across each end of the layout.

  • Fold the railroad cartridge layout (end to end) so that channel stitch sew lines are parallel to each other, and so that the channel stitch lines for the top of the pocket overlays the channel stitch lines for the bottom of the pocket; after the pocket is perfectly aligned (side to side, and end to end), sew up both sides of the layout to form a picket.

  • Cut the chain stitches on both sides of the pocket; standard rework, if necessary, is per Quality Assurance Inspection Manual;

  • Nonconforming material is processed per appropriate standard or continuous process

  • Nonconformance procedure; acceptable, completed railroad cartridge pocket are placed into the banking area for the next operation;

  • Lift 50lbs plus infrequently, stand on feet for long periods of time frequent walking.

  • Must be able to operator a manual jack

  • All other duties as assigned.
