Since 1984, The CommuniCare Family of Companies currently owns/manages 84 nursing and rehabilitation centers, hospitals, assisted living, and specialty care communities throughout Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virgina. Due to recent expansion, we now have an outstanding opportunity for a Project Manager with a background in construction project management to join the CommuniCare family!

Acting as internal business consultants, the Project Manager is charged with strategic real estate planning and execution; managing scope schedule, and budget. Our goal is to maximize the utilization and value of CommuniCare real estate assets. Reporting to the VP Construction and Facilities Management, the Project Manager is wholly responsible for working with internal and external clients in developing the project charter - from planning, concept development, budgeting, capital approval, preconstruction development, programming, and design development – all the way through construction management and execution of assigned projects; including all furniture, signage, fixtures, and equipment.

The project manager operates independently and exercises good judgement in the evaluation, selection, execution, and management of architects, contractors and vendor and associates agreements; however, recognizing and grooming key corporate partners. The project manager acts as and represents CommuniCare as the owner in matters where municipal or other regulatory matters are necessary.

The Project Manager also serves as a professional ambassador of corporate initiatives, including the implementation and compliance with corporate brand standards for physical plans look and feel and furniture, fixtures, signage, and equipment.

The successful Project Manager will engage in effective communication with company leaders and superiors to inform them of project development, and will be able to handle difficult personnel situations with discretion and respect. He/she will continuously maintain updated knowledge and understanding of core products and services used in construction and refurbishment projects. Through understanding the implications of technical choices, the Project Manager will be able to guide facility managers to the best solutions. The Project Manager will demonstrate both leadership and teamwork in bringing projects to their successful completion.

  • Job Requirements
    • Earned University degree or college diploma related to the position
    • 3-5 years direct experience in a project management capacity
    • Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communication
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize projects and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
    • The ideal candidate will have some experience with healthcare operations and/or facility maintenance support in the senior housing, healthcare or Hospital Segments.
