Job Description Job Description Assembles, disassembles and modifies mechanical systems and subassemblies by following specific instructions.
  1. Assembles and disassembles subassemblies, chassis and mechanical parts using various tools.
  2. Reviews modification and rework instructions or discrepancy reports, engineering change orders and preliminary rework notices. Modifies or reworks mechanical assemblies by removing, repairing and replacing parts, cables or harnesses.
  3. Operates various power tools used in the assembly of all types of hardware as identified on the supplied parts lists.
  4. Performs, before shipment to the customer, paint touch-up to assemblies by using spray guns and/or brushes.
  5. Applies adhesives to gaskets and grommets.
  6. Works from mechanical blueprints, process sheets, sketches and written or verbal instructions.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Required Skills and Education Minimum skill requirements are:
  • Knowledge of mechanical blueprints and layout drawings.
  • Ability to perform spray paint touch-up.
  • Ability to use adhesives.
  • Knowledge of mechanical rework operations.
  • Must be able to meet specified certification per company and customer standards. Normally acquired through two (2) years of mechanical assembly experience.
