We are just a new and different kind of company!Due to continued growth we have a Direct Hire opportunity with one of Oregon's Top Employers!Title:          Furnace Technician 2Duration:   Temp to HireShift:         Days and SwingPay:          $14-$18 per hour plus benefitsRESPONSIBILITIES: - Follows manufacturing functional procedures to prepare SiC products for furnace processing. - Loads and unloads SiC products into the firing and impregnation furnaces - Assembles and disassembles the furnace inner cases for individual or multiple layer processing - Prepares products for the firing and impregnation processes, using support fixtures and trays, and tying carbon string - Calculates silicon weight to precise proportions using an electronic scale - Records and enters collected production data on forms and into computer databases - Performs cleaning of manufacturing area and equipment, as needed - Operates furnaces and associated systems by using control panel buttons, switches and gauges - Performs minor furnace preventative maintenance and pre-run checks - Recognizes and determines product placement to maximize furnace processing - Monitors furnace performance and reports any irregularities to Manufacturing Manager and/or Engineers - Follows safety protocols for the department and facility, according to procedures QUALIFICATIONS: - Requires a minimum of 6 months - 2 years of related manufacturing experience - Requires general education, vocational training and/or on‐the‐job training - Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice - Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments - Completion of intermediate part complexities, furnace skills, and drawing skills must be demonstrated, as well as, meeting quality standards before moving to next level - Communicates product flow information as needed - Must be able to move and adapt to work in a variety of positions i.e. standing, sitting, bending, and moving between workstations - Must have good hand/eye coordination - Willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines and complete special projects - Ability to work under tight deadlines for completion of projects - Must be able to pass pre-employment background and drug screen - HS Diploma or GED equivalentWe are an equal opportunity employer.
